Ολοκληρώθηκε το μεσημέρι η τελετή ανακοίνωσης των υποψηφιοτήτων για τα φετινά βραβεία Όσκαρ, με τα οποία θα κορυφωθεί η σεζόν των βραβείων στο Χόλιγουντ.
Παρουσιαστές ήταν οι ηθοποιοί Τίφανι Χάντις και Άντι Σέρκις, οι οποίοι εντυπωσίασαν με το χιούμορ και τις ατάκες τους, προετοιμάζοντας το έδαφος για τις 4 Μαρτίου.
Η ταινία «Το σχήμα του νερού» του Μεξικανού σκηνοθέτη Γκιγιέρμο ντελ Τόρο συγκεντρώνει 13 υποψηφιότητες για τα βραβεία Όσκαρ, μεταξύ των οποίων η υποψηφιόητα για καλύτερη ταινία, καλύτερη σκηνοθεσία, Ά γυναικείου ρόλου και καλύτερης μουσικής.
Ακολουθούν η «Δουνκέρκη» του Κρίστοφερ Νόλαν με οκτώ υποψηφιότητες και το «Τρεις Πινακίδες έξω από το Έμπινγκ στο Μιζούρι» του Μάρτιν ΜακΝτόνα με επτά υποψηφιότητες.
