Δεκάδες χιλιάδες θαυμαστές του Τζόνι Χαλιντέι συγκεντρώθηκαν στο Παρίσι το Σάββατο, για να πουν το τελευταίο «αντίο» στο ίνδαλμά τους.

 

Η νεκρώσιμη πομπή του Γάλλου ρόκερ, ακολουθούμενη από εκατοντάδες μοτοσικλετιστές, κατέβηκε τη λεωφόρο των Ηλυσίων, υπό τα χειροκροτήματα του πλήθους, που τραγουδούσε γνωστές επιτυχίες του. Η νεκρώσιμος ακολουθία τελείται στην εκκλησία Μαντελέν, παρουσία των μελών της οικογένειάς του, πολλών καλλιτεχνών και πολιτικών.

Ο πρόεδρος της Γαλλίας Εμανουέλ Μακρόν θα απευθύνει έναν σύντομο, ύστατο χαιρετισμό στον θρυλικό τραγουδιστή, από το κεφαλόσκαλο της εκκλησίας.

Στη σκηνή που έχει στηθεί στα σκαλιά της εκκλησίας, μουσικοί που συντρόφευσαν τον Τζόνι στο καλλιτεχνικό ταξίδι του παίζουν γνωστά κομμάτια του.

Η Λεωφόρος των Ηλυσίων έκλεισε για τη νεκρώσιμη ακολουθία. Μόνο για έναν «κοινό θνητό» είχε γίνει κάτι τέτοιο στη Γαλλία: ήταν ο Βίκτωρ Ουγκό πριν από 132 χρόνια, στις 22 Μαΐου του 1885.
